David H. Abelow, AIA graduated from Cooper Union's Irwin S. Chanin School of Architecture with Honors in 1980, when he received the Alfred E. Kazan Fund Prize for urban design. He is licensed in New York and New Jersey. Mr. Abelow joined I.M. Pei and Partners where he was Senior Designer and Project Architect. He departed to form Abelow Connors Architects in 1986, which became Abelow Connors Sherman in 1993, then reached its current form in 2004. He was the principal-in-charge of the "Musician's Residence and Studio" project that received the AIA/ New Jersey Chapter Excellence in Architecture Award in 1994, which has been published here and abroad in several periodicals and books. He has been responsible for many residential projects including the Russell Estate Residence which won an award for Recognition for Outstanding Contributions to Historic Preservation in Princeton (NJ) in 2000. He has been an occasional visiting critic at Columbia University and the Parsons School of Design, and has also served on the Board of Directors for the Jersey City Historical Commission. Mr. Abelow lives with his wife Lorraine and three children in Westport, Connecticut.

David H. Sherman, AIA, LEED Green Associate, graduated from the University of Virginia School of Architecture in 1981. Prior to that, his final year studies took place in Venice, Italy. He is licensed in New York State. Mr. Sherman worked at Polshek and Partners for eight years, helping them to earn the national AIA Firm Award in 1992 after functioning as Senior Designer and Project Architect for such projects as the NYU Medical Center Skirball Institute of Biomolecular Medicine and the Inventor's Hall of Fame. His own theoretical project for a Nite Club and his Affordable Housing project received Design Awards from the AIA New York Chapter in 1992 and 1994. In 1992, he was appointed Adjunct Assistant Professor of Architecture at Columbia University, where he coordinated and taught the foundation studio called Abstraction. He joined forces with David Abelow in 1993, when his initial projects included the firm's efforts on Tsampa Restaurant and the Vietor Residence, then featured the NoHo Loft, Ravitch Townhouse and Savage-Kong Residence. His design for the Siegel Swansea Loft has been published widely. In recent years, Mr. Sherman has led the firm's designs for the Forbes Townhouse and the Flatiron Loft for an Art Collector. Mr. Sherman lives with his wife Benita Welch and two children in Brooklyn, New York.

David L. Hendershot, AIA graduated from the Georgia Institute of Technology in 1985 with a Masters in Architecture degree, after receiving Highest Honors as an undergraduate there. After moving to New York in 1989, he worked at the offices of Gwathmey Siegel Associates, Michael Fieldman & Partners, and Richard Nash Gould Architects before joining Abelow Sherman Architects as a project architect. Mr. Hendershot has extensive experience in New York corporate interiors, in addition to health care and academic building types. Since joining the firm, Mr. Hendershot has headed up a team developing the interiors for a series of buildings on an estate in Westchester County, which includes residential and farm buildings, and a private zoo. He has also been responsible for the Flanagan Residence , the Israel Residence, and Sterling Sound.

Robert B. Price graduated from the University of Washington in 1975 as a magna cum laude in painting and sculpture. He went on to independently study art and architecture in London, and then graduated in 1979 from Columbia University with a Masters of Fine Arts in Sculpture. For several years he was a founding member of an experimental design studio specializing in engineering prototypes for several notable new York artists, and had many group and solo exhibitions of his own work. Mr. Price became a fabrication engineer for woodworking concerns and general contractors, and ultimately met the members of Abelow Sherman while working as a coordinated shop drawing artisan for Silver Rail Construction. His career path has led him back into architecture, as he joined the firm in 1998 as a highly specialized design detailer and now project architect, where he most recently has led the firm's efforts on the LeBoff House and the Westchester Pool Pavilion projects.

David M. Younglove graduated in 1987 from the University of Michigan with a Bachelor of Science in Architecture degree. As the longest-term staff member associated with Abelow Sherman, he has served as project architect for the Art Collector's Apartment on Fifth Avenue, as well as the Russell Estate Residence in Princeton. Mr. Younglove has applied his unique skills to both the architecture and to custom interior design elements on these and many other projects.

Mara Ayuso, AIA, graduated from the University of Virginia in 1998 with a Bachelor of Science in Architecture degree, and continued at McGill University to obtain a Master of Architecture in 2003. Her experience has taken her to Denmark's International Study Center in Copenhagen, and work with Dean Maltz + Shigeru Ban in New York. Ms. Ayuso has assisted with the design and management of a number of residences and restaurants, most notably the Flatiron Loft for an Art Collector.

Steven L. Soleo, AIA, LEED AP, graduated in 1995 from SUNY Buffalo's School of Architecture and Planning, where he was the recipient of the school's Senior Design Award. Mr. Soleo brought a wealth of skill to the office in 2010, when he joined the firm after working with Beyer Blinder Belle, Alexander Antonelli and Bogdanow Partners Architects. His experience ranges across single-family residential, multi-family residential, restaurants and offices, and from new construction to historic restoration. Since joining Abelow Sherman, he has contributed as a project architect to a major addition/renovation to a house in Westchester County.

Catharine Lowery graduated from the University of Kentucky College of Design in 2007 with a Bachelor of Architecture degree, the Studio Design Award, several Dean's Lists, and membership in the National Honor Society in Architecture. Her experience is already deep in residential design and exhibition design, and Ms. Lowery has been a critical part of the office's team to renovate a 36-foot wide historic townhouse on the Upper East Side.
